NATIONAL SPORTS COMMISSION ADVANCES PLANS FOR SPORTS ECONOMY WITH NEW INITIATIVES

Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Alhaji Shehu Dikko, has reaffirmed the commission’s commitment to developing a sports economy, in line with the mandate set by President Bola Tinubu.

Alhaji Dikko made this statement on Tuesday during a meeting with the Presidents and Secretaries General of the National Sports Federations in Abuja.

He emphasized that the NSC is dedicated to promoting grassroots sports development, enacting legislation to regulate the sector, and improving sporting infrastructure nationwide.

The NSC Chairman further called on the Presidents and Secretaries General of the various federations to view other stakeholders as partners in advancing the development of sports in Nigeria.

Director General of the Commission, Honourable Bukola Olopade, disclosed that a Chief Operating Officer would be appointed for each sporting federation as part of efforts to establish a robust sports economy.
