NASARAWA GOVERNOR ANNOUNCES NEW MINING COORDINATION OUTFIT

Date:

Nasarawa State is set to establish a specialized outfit to streamline mining investments and enhance the state’s role in Nigeria’s solid minerals sector.

Governor Abdullahi Sule made this announcement during the inauguration of Matrix Minerals Exploration and Mining Limited, the first large-scale mining and processing company in the state, located in Jidda, Wamba Local Government Area.

Governor Sule highlighted his administration’s investor-friendly policies, which have positioned Nasarawa as a hub for solid mineral exploration. “This outfit will ensure proper coordination of mining activities and create a one-stop shop for investors,” he stated.

Matrix Minerals, with a 100-ton per-hour processing capacity, was praised as a milestone in Nasarawa’s industrial development. The company’s CEO, Engr. Abdulkabir Adisa, reiterated its commitment to economic growth and the local community.

Representing the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, the Director-General of the Mining Cadastre, Obadiah Nkom, commended Nasarawa’s proactive approach to mining, aligning with the federal government’s “Renewed Hope” agenda for solid minerals.

Local leaders, including Wamba Council Chairman Ezekiel Jagga and Oriye Rindre Retired Justice Lawal Musa Nagogo, praised the initiative for its potential to create jobs and promote community development.
