The Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, has emphasized that the implementation of continuous reinforcement concrete pavement technology is the best option for select road projects across the country, particularly in flood-prone areas and regions with high water table levels.
Engr. Umahi made this assertion during an inspection visit to the ongoing reconstruction of a 2.46-kilometer special intervention project on the East-West Road in Delta State. He highlighted that this advanced pavement technology is particularly beneficial for roads with heavy traffic loads, as it offers enhanced durability, strength, and resilience against environmental challenges.
The Minister reiterated that adopting this innovative approach aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to prioritizing road projects that are critical to economic growth and national development. He expressed satisfaction with the quality of work observed during his visit, emphasizing that the administration is determined to ensure that major economic corridors receive the attention they deserve.
Additionally, Engr. Umahi urged contractors handling the various projects to accelerate construction efforts, stressing that President Tinubu is eagerly awaiting their completion to improve connectivity and ease of transportation across the nation.
