The Labour Party has reaffirmed its support for its 2027 presidential ticket of Dr. Chibuzo Sunday Okereke and Hajja Bintu Konto, expressing confidence in the duo’s leadership ahead of the general election.
At an interactive session held at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, National Chairman, Senator Nenadi Usman, described Hajja Konto’s emergence as the party’s vice presidential candidate as a reflection of the Labour Party’s commitment to equity, inclusion and social justice.
She said the nomination aligns with the party’s “Mama, Papa, Pikin” philosophy, adding that the Labour Party is the only major political party in the 2027 presidential race to nominate a woman as its vice presidential candidate.
Senator Usman expressed confidence that Hajja Konto’s professional experience and humanitarian background would strengthen governance if the party wins the 2027 presidential election.
Presidential candidate, Dr. Chibuzo Sunday Okereke, welcomed the choice of Hajja Konto as his running mate, describing her as humble, dependable and experienced.
