The Kwara State Government has issued a directive to public sector employees to promptly register with the Kwara State Residents’ Registration Agency (KWSRRA), warning that failure to do so will result in withheld salaries and bonuses for November.
This announcement was made by the Commissioner for Finance, Dr. Hauwa Nuru, in Ilorin on Monday. She emphasized that the registration process, which began in July, is crucial for the state’s commitment to efficient governance and resource management.
“The KWSRRA is legally mandated to collect essential data on every resident in the state, assigning each person a unique identity for improved planning, resource allocation, service delivery, and public safety,” Dr. Nuru stated.
She highlighted that the directive applies to all state employees, including those in the 16 local government areas, underscoring that only registered workers will be eligible for salary payments and bonuses from November onward.
Dr. Nuru further explained, “This registration initiative is a critical step in building a comprehensive and accurate database to enhance service delivery and ensure that state resources are efficiently managed. By ensuring all employees are registered, we aim to strengthen our payroll system and improve transparency.”
She urged unregistered state workers to visit the nearest KWSRRA center to complete their enrollment promptly, noting that compliance with this directive is essential for establishing a more equitable and efficient system for both state employees and the broader Kwara population.
“The integrity of our data impacts all financial and administrative operations, enabling informed decision-making and ensuring fair compensation for all state workers,” she concluded.
