Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has instituted legal action against a politician, Moshood Mustapha, and his brother, Bolakale Mustapha, over allegations of disturbing public peace and inciting the public through a video circulated online.
The two defendants were arraigned on Monday before Justice Muhammed Abdulgafar at the State High Court in Ilorin, where they pleaded not guilty to the five-count charge.
According to the charges, the defendants allegedly made false declarations and shared a video purportedly capable of inciting the public against the governor and his administration.
The court granted each of them bail in the sum of ₦5 million. The trial has been adjourned to July 18, 2025.
The case has generated public interest, particularly as the second defendant, Bolakale Mustapha, is a former member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who reportedly fell out with Governor AbdulRazaq. Many are now closely watching to see how the case unfolds.
