A House of Representatives aspirant for the Jega/Gwandu/Aliero Federal Constituency, Aminullahi Mustapha, has resigned from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Mustapha announced his resignation in a letter dated July 5, stating that the decision followed extensive consultations with his supporters, stakeholders and other political associates across the constituency.
He said his defection was driven by his commitment to the development of the constituency and his belief that the APC provides a better platform to pursue his political aspirations and contribute to national development.
Mustapha also expressed appreciation to the ADC for the opportunity to serve under its platform and thanked party members for their support during his time in the party.
Following his defection, the former ADC aspirant and thousands of his supporters were received by Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi.
The move is expected to strengthen the APC’s political presence in the Jega/Gwandu/Aliero Federal Constituency ahead of future elections.
