Former U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris has announced the release of a memoir detailing her brief 2024 presidential campaign against Donald Trump. Titled “107 Days”, the book is set for publication on September 23 by Simon & Schuster.
In a video shared on social media Thursday, Harris described the book as a “behind-the-scenes account” of what she called “the shortest presidential campaign in modern history.” Harris became the Democratic nominee after President Joe Biden exited the race in July 2024 amid growing concerns over his cognitive health.
“Just over a year ago, I launched my campaign for president of the United States — 107 days, traveling the country, fighting for our future,” Harris said. “I wrote this book with candor and reflection.”
Though her 2024 bid was unsuccessful, Harris has signaled she is not stepping away from public life. While she announced this week she will not run for California governor in 2026, U.S. media outlets suggest a 2028 presidential run remains a possibility.
Appearing Thursday on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert — recently canceled by CBS due to financial concerns — Harris is reemerging on the national stage following months of public quiet after her electoral defeat.
The network, under scrutiny after a $16 million settlement with Donald Trump over a controversial 60 Minutes segment featuring Harris, recently finalized an $8 billion merger with Skydance Media.
Trump, speaking to reporters Thursday, dismissed Harris’s political skills, saying, “She can’t talk. She can’t do an interview… I thought it was a very strange campaign we had.” Nonetheless, he quipped, “Yeah, I think I’m going to buy it. I’d love to see it,” in reference to Harris’s forthcoming book.
Also stepping into the publishing spotlight is former White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, who announced her memoir “Independent” last month. Jean-Pierre has since left the Democratic Party, accusing it of betraying former President Biden.
