Nigeria’s Super Eagles were held to a goalless draw by Rwanda in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier held in Kigali this afternoon.
Rwanda began the match strongly, but the Super Eagles responded effectively, missing three significant opportunities in the first half, with Victor Boniface and Ademola Lookman at the forefront.
The second half continued similarly, with substitute Moses Simon and Lookman again unable to capitalize on their chances, thanks to impressive saves by the Rwandan goalkeeper.
Nigeria remains at the top of Group D with four points, while Rwanda sits in second place with two points. The standings could change depending on the result of the fixture between Benin Republic and Libya later tonight in Abidjan.
The Super Eagles will resume their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign next month, facing Libya in a doubleheader on 6th October and 14th October.
