Abuja residents have expressed deep concern over the sharp rise in tuition fees by educational institutions, which comes amidst worsening economic challenges in the country.
As schools across Abuja and other states resume for the 2024/2025 academic session, parents are grappling with skyrocketing school fees and escalating transportation costs. Many fear that the financial burden might force them to withdraw their children from school.
In interviews with ADBN TV, numerous residents shared their frustration over the situation, citing the strain it places on household budgets. Some parents expressed worry about their ability to continue affording quality education for their children.
Addressing these concerns, the National Coordinator of the Digital Resource Centre of Universal Basic Education, Prof. Bashir Galadanci, reassured the public of the board’s dedication to delivering quality education, despite the economic realities.
Parents are now urging the government to provide increased support for public schools and reduce the financial strain on low-income families. They are calling on authorities at all levels to address the pressing issues within the education sector to ensure sustained access to quality education for all students.
