Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been appointed as the head of football operations at Red Bull, overseeing their clubs in Leipzig, Salzburg, and New York.
Klopp, who left Liverpool after nine years, cited exhaustion as the reason for his departure.
In his new role, Klopp will focus on high-level strategy rather than day-to-day coaching. He described his position as a mentor for the coaches and management of the Red Bull clubs.
Klopp will officially begin on January 1, 2025. His contract reportedly includes an exit clause should he be approached for the German national team coaching position.
Currently residing in Majorca, Klopp retains a sponsorship with Adidas. Red Bull is also the primary sponsor of Formula One champion Max Verstappen.
