The House of Representatives is seeking to make the Court of Appeal the final court for the hearing and determination of Petitions on Governorship, National Assembly, and State House of Assembly.
The Bill was sponsored by the Member representing Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency, Mr. Nnamdi Ezechi, passed the first reading.
Its objective is to simplify the appeal process for the mentioned elections by assigning the Court of Appeal as the ultimate appellate authority.
According to Mr. Ezechi, the motivation behind the initiative was to reduce delays and expenses associated with post-election legal proceedings.
