House of Rep Committee Chairman, Isiaka Assures Funding For Student Loans

Date:

Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Student Loans, Gboyega Isiaka, has affirmed the federal government’s commitment to adequately fund the student loan program for all eligible citizens enrolled in public tertiary institutions nationwide.

Isiaka, who represents the Egabdo North/Imeko Afon Federal Constituency in Ogun State, gave this assurance during a press briefing at the National Assembly complex in Abuja.

He also mentioned that the funds needed to support the program would be sourced from one percent of all revenues generated to the federation account.

Recall that on Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu signed the Student Loans (Access to Higher Education) Act (repeal and re-enactment) Bill 2024, into law, following its earlier passage in March by both chambers of the National Assembly.
