Date:

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has pledged full support for traders affected by the recent fire outbreak at the Lafia Modern Market. The fire, which began at approximately 9:45 p.m., ravaged an area primarily occupied by tailors, causing significant losses.

During his visit to the scene, Governor Sule instructed officials to compile a comprehensive list of affected traders to ensure immediate relief measures. He commended the swift response of fire services, security agencies, the market board, and community members in containing the blaze.

Dr. Yakubu Ubangari, Director General of the Nasarawa State Market Bureau, estimated the damages to be in the millions and confirmed that investigations are ongoing to determine the cause and full extent of the destruction.
