Gov. Wike Declares One-Day Public Holiday as Tinubu Visits Rivers

Rivers State governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike says Rivers people are excited to give a rousing welcome to the president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu as he visits the State to officially inaugurate two landmark projects.

The projects the president elect shall inaugurate are the iconic  Rumuola-Rumuokwuta flyover on Wednesday 3rd May 2023 and the ultramodern Magistrate Court Complex on Thursday 4th May 2023.

In a statewide broadcast to Rivers people on Tuesday, Governor Wike declared Wednesday as a public holiday to enable Rivers people to participate effectively in the scheduled events.

The governor urged all Rivers citizens to come out enmasse to receive the president-elect,  Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and display the rich traditional Rivers hospitality as he commissions these legacy projects to God’s glory and advancement of our development.

Governor Wike who declared Wednesday as a public holiday also directed that all shops and business premises along Rumuola to Rumuokwuta roads in Obio-Akpor Local Government of the State must remain closed between 8am and 3pm on Wednesday.

He urged all labour unions and security agencies to comply with this closure order.
