Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has flagged off a month-long registration exercise for members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across all wards in the state.
The registration, which commenced on August 4, is aimed at identifying genuine party members and eliminating impersonation within the party ranks.
Speaking during his own revalidation and registration at Ikot Ekpene Udo in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, Governor Eno explained that the initiative is designed to provide clarity on party membership and strengthen the party’s organisational structure in the state.
Officially welcoming new members into the APC, the governor urged them to remain focused and undeterred by critics, encouraging them to rally behind the administration of President Bola Tinubu. He expressed confidence that unity and collective effort would drive the party to greater national success.
Addressing journalists after the event, Governor Eno described his decision to join the APC as both strategic and in the best interest of Akwa Ibom people, adding that he was fully satisfied with the choice.
