Date:

The Federal Government has announced Wednesday, December 25; Thursday, December 26; and Wednesday, January 1, 2025, as public holidays to celebrate Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year festivities.

The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the declaration in a statement signed by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani, on Monday.

In his message to Nigerians, Tunji-Ojo encouraged citizens to embrace the season’s core values of love, peace, and unity.

“The Christmas season is a good moment for both spiritual reflection and national renewal. As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, the Prince of Peace, let us demonstrate kindness and extend goodwill to one another, irrespective of our differences,” he said.

The Minister also underscored the importance of strengthening family and community bonds, urging Nigerians to work towards fostering harmony that contributes to national development.

Reassuring citizens of the government’s commitment, he added, “The Federal Government is committed to ensuring peace, security, and prosperity across the nation.”

Tunji-Ojo expressed confidence in the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu, stating that it would propel Nigeria toward a more prosperous 2025.
