Federal Lawsuit Targets Binance Holdings and Leaders

Date:

The federal government is poised to bring Binance Holdings Limited and its top officials, Tigran Gambaryan and Nadeem Anjarwalla, to court today over allegations of tax evasion.

Binance, Gambaryan, and Anjarwalla, listed as the 1st to 3rd defendants respectively, are scheduled to appear before Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja on a four-count charge.

Anjarwalla, who had been detained alongside Gambaryan, reportedly escaped from lawful custody from an Abuja guest house where they were being held.

Although the Federal High Court easter vacation commenced on March 22 and will conclude on April 8, Chief Judge Justice John Tsoho directed the transfer of the Binance case file to Justice Nwite.

Hearing notices have been dispatched to the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), the prosecuting agency, and counsel for other parties, for the defendants to enter their pleas.
