Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, has called on the South East Development Commission (SEDC) to prioritize transforming the region into a common market and boosting infrastructural development to attract investors.
Governor Mbah made this appeal during a courtesy visit by the SEDC Board and Management at the Government House in Enugu. He commended President Bola Tinubu for establishing the SEDC after years of unsuccessful attempts, praising him for appointing skilled individuals to drive the commission’s vision.

The governor assured the SEDC of his full support, emphasizing that its objectives align with Enugu State’s ongoing development projects. He expressed confidence that the commission’s initiatives would significantly contribute to the region’s growth and prosperity.
In response, SEDC Chairman, Chief Chukwuemeka Wogu, and Managing Director, Mr. Mark Okoye, represented by Executive Director of Projects, Hon. Toby Okechukwu, applauded Governor Mbah’s swift infrastructural strides. They outlined key commission initiatives, including the South East Security Intervention Programme, Regional Economic Programme, Agro-Mechanisation Programme, and the South East Venture Capital Fund, all designed to enhance regional development.
