Enugu State Governor, Dr Peter Mbah, has inaugurated the State’s computerised Vehicle Inspection Centre to enhance road safety.
Dr Mbah, represented by the Commissioner for Transportation, Dr Obi Ozor, emphasised the Centre’s role in reducing accidents caused by faulty vehicles and minimising harmful emissions, thus contributing to a healthier environment.
Equipped with State-of-the-Art Technologies, the Centre aims to conduct thorough inspections using advanced diagnostic tools and automated processes to uphold safety and environmental standards.
The Chief Vehicle Inspection Officer, Engr. Valentine Chime, praised the Governor for the initiative, highlighting its importance in ensuring all vehicles in the state meet required standards before hitting the roads.
Representing the Association of Mass Transport Operators, Mr. Francis Edeh hailed the facility as a significant achievement, asserting that road transport workers would utilise it to ensure both vehicle and passenger safety.
