The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards brought together some of television’s biggest stars for a night of major wins and history-making moments in Hollywood.
HBO Max medical drama, “The Pitt,” retained its title as Outstanding Drama Series, winning the category for the second consecutive year. Noah Wyle also won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.
In the comedy category, “Widow’s Bay” won Outstanding Comedy Series alongside several other awards.
Matthew Rhys made Emmy history by winning two lead acting awards on the same night, for his performances in “Widow’s Bay” and “The Beast in Me.”
Jean Smart also made history after winning Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for “Hacks” for the fifth consecutive time, becoming the first actress to win the category for every season of the same series.
Rhea Seehorn secured her first Emmy, winning Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for “Pluribus.”
Michael J. Fox received the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award in recognition of his advocacy and work supporting Parkinson’s research.
The ceremony, hosted by Mariska Hargitay, celebrated another year of television achievements, with “The Pitt” retaining its drama crown and several stars recording significant career milestones.
