The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Kelly Okungbowa, also known as Ebo Stone, the suspended coordinator of the Edo State Public Safety Response Team (PSRT), for alleged abuse of the Naira. The arrest follows a viral video showing Okungbowa spraying and mutilating Naira notes at a bar on March 9, 2025.
In a statement issued on Monday by the EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, the Commission confirmed Okungbowa’s arrest, stating that his actions violated the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Act, which prohibits the abuse and mutilation of the Naira.
“Okungbowa, who until recently was the coordinator of the Edo State Public Safety Response Team (PSRT), now suspended by the State Government, was arrested owing to a viral video where he was seen spraying and mutilating the Naira at a bar on March 9, 2025,” the EFCC said.

“Intensive investigation and surveillance led to her re-arrest on Sunday, March 16, 2025. She is currently in custody awaiting her arraignment,” the EFCC stated.
