Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, has called on public servants to view their appointments as opportunities for genuine service rather than avenues for personal gain. He made this statement during the inauguration of the Governing Councils of Federal Institutions and the Board of Trustees of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) in Abuja.
Prof. Mamman emphasized the crucial role of the newly inaugurated boards in driving excellence, innovation, and progress within Nigeria’s tertiary institutions. He underscored President Bola Tinubu’s educational agenda as a key pillar for national development, job creation, and self-empowerment.
Arch. Sonny Echono, Executive Secretary of TETFund, described the education sector as the foundation of the nation’s developmental efforts and called for strong collaboration from the newly inaugurated Board of Trustees.
Prof. Paulinus Okwelle, Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Colleges of Education, also echoed the importance of the call to service, considering it vital for the ongoing educational reforms in the country.
The event culminated with the official inauguration of the TETFund Board of Trustees, alongside the chairmen and board members of various federal tertiary institutions across the nation.
