EDUCATION MINISTER STRESSES NEED FOR CONTINUOUS TEACHER TRAINING

Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, has stressed the importance of ongoing training and skill development for teachers nationwide.

Speaking during a news conference in Abuja ahead of the World Teachers’ Day commemoration, Prof. Mamman, represented by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Nasir Gwarzo, highlighted the crucial role teachers play in society’s development. He called for addressing the challenges that prevent educators from reaching their full potential and fulfilling their responsibilities effectively.

“The future of the nation is shaped by the hands of our educators,” he stated, reaffirming the critical role of teachers in national development.

Comrade Titus Amba, National President of the Nigerian Union of Teachers, praised the ministry’s leadership and advocated for policies that support the teaching profession, ensuring teachers receive the necessary resources and backing to succeed.
