EDO ELECTION: IGP ORDERS RESTRICTION OF MOVEMENT

Inspector General of Police, IGP Olukayode Egbetokun, has ordered a restriction on movements across roads, waterways, and other modes of transportation during the Edo State governorship election set for tomorrow, Saturday, 21st September 2024.

Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in a statement, outlined that the restriction will be enforced from 6 AM to 6 PM on election day.

ACP Adejobi noted that certain groups are exempted from the restriction, including accredited media personnel, electoral officials, ambulances, and emergency responders.

The restriction is part of security measures aimed at ensuring a peaceful, transparent, and credible electoral process during the off-cycle election.
