The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, has concluded a four-day operational tour of Nigerian Air Force (NAF) units in the Southwest, where he inspected facilities and assessed operational readiness.
Director of Public Relations and Information, Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Olusola Akinbonyewa, explained in a statement that the tour, held from December 12 to 15, 2024, covered key states, including Lagos, Ondo, Osun, and Oyo. Major installations inspected included the 631 Aircraft Maintenance Depot, NAF Institute of Safety, and AFRDI.
Highlights of the tour included the commissioning of a multipurpose hall in Lagos by the Nigerian Air Force Officers’ Wives Association (NAFOWA) and visits to the newly established Air Force Comprehensive School in Ondo State.
The CAS also inspected critical projects aimed at infrastructural upgrades and indigenous technology development. While engaging personnel during durbars, Air Marshal Abubakar emphasized his command philosophy, calling for excellence and dedication in all ongoing efforts. He reaffirmed the NAF’s commitment to innovation, teamwork, and operational readiness to address Nigeria’s evolving security challenges.
