Nigeria’s Super Falcon’s first-choice goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, has been named the best goalkeeper in the French Division 1 feminine league for the season.
The 23-year-old was announced as the Award Winner on Monday night, capping off an impressive season that saw her earn a reputation as a penalty expert.
Throughout the season, Nnadozie saved an impressive seven spot-kicks in both the league and Champions League, the highest in Europe this season.
Her penalty-saving heroics played a crucial role in Paris FC’s shoot-out victories over Arsenal and Wolfsburg in the Women’s Champions League.
She also led the Paris-based club to the Semi-Final stage of the competition, where they were eventually knocked out by Rivals Lyon.
Speaking at the Award ceremony, the 2023 CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year winner expressed her joy at receiving the award.
