Chelsea Winger Mykhailo Mudryk Fails Drugs Test

Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk has failed a drugs test, the Premier League club has confirmed.

The Blues were contacted by the English Football Association after an adverse result from a routine urine test.

Mudryk, who plays for Ukraine, has denied knowingly using any banned substances. Chelsea has stated they will work to determine the cause of the test result.

It remains unclear which banned substance was found in Mudryk’s test.

The 23-year-old last played for Chelsea on 28th November and has missed the past five matches across all competitions.

Mudryk, who joined Chelsea from Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk in a deal worth up to 89 million pounds in 2023, has scored 10 goals in 73 appearances for the club.
