The Confederation of African Football has officially revealed the dates for the 2024 Championship of African Nations (CHAN) qualifiers.
The competition department has announced that the first round of qualifications will be held from October 25–27 and November 1–3.
The second round is scheduled for 20th to 22nd December and 27th to 29th December.
CAF noted that since the three host nations of Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania will occupy three slots, an additional slot will be allocated for other participating teams from the East and Central Africa region.
This will bring the total number of teams in the final tournament to 19. Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania will participate in the qualifiers, qualifying automatically as hosts, alongside the team that achieves the best results in the CECAFA qualifiers.
The final tournament is set to be held from 1st to 28th February 2025.
