FC Barcelona will make a long-awaited return to their iconic Camp Nou stadium with a friendly match scheduled for August 10, 2025, the club has announced.
The fixture, which will serve as this year’s Joan Gamper Trophy match, will mark the partial reopening of the historic venue following extensive renovation works that began in 2023.
In an official statement, the reigning Spanish champions confirmed that although construction is still ongoing—including work on the third tier, dual VIP ring, roof structure, and internal facilities—the stadium is ready to host fans for the ceremonial return.
To allow additional time for continued work, Barcelona have requested to play their first three La Liga games of the 2025/26 season away from home.
The full redevelopment of Camp Nou is projected to be completed by the summer of 2026. Once finished, the upgraded venue will boast a capacity of 105,000, making it one of the largest and most modern stadiums in Europe.
