Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has acknowledged that his team cannot continue to play with 10 men following William Saliba’s red card during the match against Bournemouth over the weekend.
Saliba was sent off in the first half, and the Gunners subsequently lost 2-0, marking their first defeat of the Premier League campaign.
In a news conference on Monday, Arteta expressed that playing with 10 men always presents challenges, noting that Arsenal has dropped points in every match this season where they received a red card.
Since Arteta’s first game as Arsenal manager on 26th December 2019, the team has accumulated 18 red cards, five more than any other Premier League team during that time.
Saliba will miss the upcoming home match against Liverpool on Sunday but is eligible to play in Arsenal’s Champions League game against Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday.
