Bayern Munich secured their place in the last 16 of the Champions League on Tuesday night with a dramatic 94th-minute equaliser from Alphonso Davies, sealing a 1-1 draw and a 3-2 aggregate victory over Scottish side Celtic.
Celtic had been leading 1-0 since the 63rd minute and were on the verge of forcing extra time, with hopes of achieving their first-ever victory in Germany.
However, with Bayern star Harry Kane sidelined due to injury and time ticking down, Davies emerged as the hero. The Canadian international calmly tapped in a late goal to ensure his team’s progression.
Bayern Munich will now face either fellow Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen or Spanish giants Atletico Madrid in the next round of the competition.
