In a statement, the State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Sir Charles Udoh, announced that the postponement of the festival, which was part of the 2024 World Tourism Day celebrations, is due to the demise of the Akwa Ibom First Lady, Pastor (Mrs) Patience Umo Eno.

Sir Udoh expressed regret for any inconvenience the postponement may cause to stakeholders and the affected communities.
