Akwa Ibom State Government has been urged to support the well-being of female youths to reduce the unemployment rate in the state.
The call was made by the State Director, Centre for Human Rights and Accountability Network, Akwa Ibom State, Otuekong Franklyn Isong during a courtesy visit by Akwa Ibom State Female Youth Association on Tuesday.
The CHRAN State Director highlighted that women are important and should be given proper empowerment to enable them to be productive in society.
During the visit, Chairman of Akwa Ibom State Female Youth Association (Purple Girls) Ednand Daniels said the group has trained young girls on catering services, tailoring, hairdressing, brass band, ICT, makeup, and other skills.
Miss Daniels, however, called on the Government to look into the plights of female youths in the state and provide an enabling environment for them to learn and be useful to society.
Passion FM correspondent, David Isong reports that the group has trained over 800 female youths cutting across the 31 local government areas in the State.
