Italian club Venezia have completed the signing of Nigerian striker Akor Adams in a club record transfer.
The 25 year old joins the newly promoted Serie A side from Sevilla after completing his medical and signing a four year contract worth 1.5 million euros per season.
Venezia will pay an initial 17 million euros, with additional performance related bonuses, making Adams the most expensive signing in the club’s history.
After a difficult start to life in Spain, the Super Eagles forward established himself as one of Sevilla’s key players last season, playing a crucial role in the club’s successful fight against relegation.
Adams also finished the campaign as Sevilla’s top scorer in La Liga with 10 league goals and is expected to strengthen Venezia’s attack as the club prepares for the new Serie A season.
