Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has promised that property owners affected by the ongoing Ibadan Circular Road project will receive between ₦6 billion and ₦7 billion in compensation by the end of October 2026.
Makinde made the disclosure during a media chat in Ibadan while addressing concerns surrounding the project and its impact on residents and property owners.
The Governor also reaffirmed his administration’s position on setback requirements along the Circular Road corridor.
He says the government will maintain a setback of 75 metres on both sides of the road in built-up areas and 500 metres on both sides in underdeveloped areas.
The setback policy has generated concerns among residents and property owners whose properties may be affected by the project.
Makinde says his administration remains committed to compensating eligible property owners, with the payments expected to be made before the end of October.
