Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has urged Nigerians to turn out in large numbers for the 2027 general elections and protect their votes from polling units through to the final declaration of results.
Obi made the call following engagements with party supporters, stakeholders and residents across Kogi, Benue and Enugu states.
The former Anambra State governor says discussions during the engagements focused on challenges facing Nigerians, including insecurity, unemployment, poverty and access to quality healthcare and education.
He urged his supporters to remain committed to the democratic process and actively participate in ensuring that their votes are protected throughout the electoral process.
Obi also visited Otukpa in Benue State and Obollo Afor in Enugu State, where he interacted with residents and traders.
He says concerns raised across the communities were largely similar, with Nigerians demanding improved security, employment opportunities, functional hospitals and schools, and better economic opportunities.
Obi, who contested the 2023 presidential election under the Labour Party, is seeking the presidency again in 2027 as the candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress.
