NDDC UNVEILS LANDMARK EDUCATIONAL INITIATIVE IN THE NIGER DELTA

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has launched the largest educational technology initiative in Africa, distributing 45,000 U-Lesson Educational Tablets and Software to primary and secondary schools across the Niger Delta. This bold investment aims to improve literacy, numeracy, and lifelong learning in the region.

Speaking at the event, NDDC Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, represented by the Director of Education, Health, and Social Services, Dr. George Uzonwanne, reaffirmed the commission’s commitment to advancing education. He explained that the U-Lesson tablets would be distributed across the nine states under NDDC’s mandate, with specialized training provided to teachers on how to integrate the technology into classrooms.

Sim Shagaya, NDDC’s consultant from U-Lesson, praised the initiative and emphasized the vital role of technology in shaping the future of education for youths in the Niger Delta. He highlighted how this program will position students for success in an increasingly digital world.

NDDC Executive Director, Projects, Sir Victor Antai, represented by Engr. Albert Eigbe, stressed the importance of staying ahead in technological advancements. Additionally, Chief Tamama Morris, the Paramount Ruler of Onopa, lauded the program as a groundbreaking step in providing expanded learning opportunities for students in the region.
