U.S ELECTIONS: Obama Endorses Kamala Harris, Says U.S. Is Ready for Her Presidency

Date:

Former President Barack Obama electrified the Democratic National Convention in Chicago on Tuesday, declaring that “the torch has been passed” to Vice President Kamala Harris. He endorsed her readiness to become the next U.S. President, emphasizing her lifelong commitment to fighting for the voiceless.

Obama’s support was met with enthusiastic applause as he called Harris a leader who “sees you and hears you” and will tirelessly advocate for Americans.

He also labeled her potential rival, Donald Trump, as “dangerous.” The crowd echoed Obama’s sentiment with chants of “Yes she can,” a nod to his famous campaign slogan.

Michelle Obama added to the praise, calling Harris “my girl” and suggesting that hope is making a comeback in the U.S. Harris’s husband, Doug Emhoff, also spoke at the convention, affirming her readiness and suitability for the presidency.

With the Democratic Party united and Harris polling well, the party is optimistic about defeating Trump in the upcoming election. Harris’s ability to draw large crowds, reminiscent of Obama’s 2008 campaign, has energized Democratic supporters, who officially nominated her as their candidate in a lively roll call.
