Governor Dauda Lawal will host his counterparts in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for a strategic meeting in Zamfara State, with governors expected to arrive in Gusau this evening ahead of Saturday’s closed-door session.
In a statement, Lawal’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Idris, said the PDP Governors Forum will use the meeting to deliberate on pressing political issues, strengthen party unity, and explore developmental collaboration across their states.
“Governor Dauda Lawal extends a warm welcome to his counterparts, the governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Zamfara State. The governors are convening today for an important meeting of the PDP Governors Forum,” Idris stated.
Lawal is scheduled to host a dinner for the governors tonight before the official meeting tomorrow.
The forum is also expected to address preparations for the PDP National Executive Committee (NEC) convention set for November 15–16, 2025, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress (APC) secured victory in the Kaura-Namoda South State Constituency by-election in Zamfara. INEC Returning Officer Lawal Sa’adu of the Federal University Gusau declared APC candidate Kamilu Sa’idu winner with 1,181 votes, defeating PDP’s Muhammad Lawal Kurya, who polled 194.
