Wife of Senate President Empowers Female Entrepreneurs in Akwa Ibom Northwest

Dr. (Mrs.) Unoma Ekaette Godswill Akpabio, Wife of the Senate President, has reinforced her commitment to human development by facilitating an entrepreneurial empowerment program for women in Akwa Ibom Northwest Senatorial District.

The event, held in Ukana, Essien Udim Local Government Area, brought together participants from the Hausa and Igbo communities alongside indigenes from the 10 Local Government Areas within the Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District.

In the spirit of Ramadan, members of the Hausa community received business equipment and food items to support their fasting, expressing gratitude to the facilitators for the gesture.

Hart Pheela, Coordinator of the Akwa Ibom Northwest Hausa Community, and Zainab Ibrahim, a community member, acknowledged the significance of the empowerment program in uplifting local businesses.

Entrepreneurs from the senatorial district who received start-up equipment highlighted how the support would enhance their ventures, with many offering prayers for the Senate President and his family in appreciation.

Dr. Akpabio’s initiative underscores her unwavering dedication to economic empowerment and the advancement of women in the region.
