VINÍCIUS JÚNIOR RULED OUT OF LIVERPOOL CLASH WITH HAMSTRING INJURY

Date:

Real Madrid has confirmed that forward Vinícius Júnior has suffered a left hamstring injury, ruling him out of the team’s crucial Champions League match against Liverpool on Wednesday.

The Spanish club expects the Brazil international to be sidelined for approximately three to four weeks.

The 24-year-old played the full 90 minutes in Real Madrid’s 3-0 league victory over Leganés on Sunday. There were no indications from Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti following the match that Vinícius was injured.

Vinícius had only returned to Madrid on Thursday after representing Brazil in their draws against Venezuela and Uruguay during the international break.

With the team needing a win following two losses in their first four Champions League matches Real Madrid faces a crucial challenge at Anfield on Wednesday.
