The Federal Government, through the Ministry of Sports Development, has expressed dismay over the current trend of age cheating at the National Youth Games which is meant for Athletes under the age of 15, and frowned that people above the approved age limit have dominated the game.
As a result, Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, has hinted at measures to ensure that adequate screening is carried out to admit athletes for the National Youth Games in the country following the soaring issues around age cheating in the games.
Dare, who stated this during the closing ceremony of the 6th National Youth Games held in Ilorin, the Kwara State Capital said his Ministry will consider the National Identity Management Card (NIMC) registration as a requirement to stem the age cheat tide.
