Nigeria’s National Football Team, the Super Eagles, are poised to discover their opponents in the qualification race for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco on July 4th.
The Nigeria Football Federation, in a statement, disclosed that the draw ceremony will take place in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The draw will include preliminary stage survivors Chad, e-Swatini, Liberia, and South Sudan, alongside 44 other national teams, including Nigeria’s Super Eagles.
The 48 countries will be distributed into 12 groups, each comprising four teams. The top two teams from each group will secure direct qualification to the finals in Morocco.
The qualification series will kick off with the first two games in the FIFA window in September, followed by two matches in October, and the final two games in the November window.
Nigeria’s Super Eagles notably finished as runners-up in the last Africa Cup of Nations held in Ivory Coast earlier this year.
