South Africa’s national football team, Bafana Bafana, have touched down in Uyo today, gearing up for a high-stakes 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Nigeria’s Super Eagles at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Friday.
Led by coach Hugo Broos, the squad landed at Victor Attah International Airport earlier, greeted warmly by representatives from the Akwa Ibom State government and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Focused on their mission, Bafana Bafana will hit the training ground at the iconic Godswill Akpabio International Stadium later today.
The South African team will promptly depart Nigeria tomorrow night after the game, adhering to their pre-arranged travel itinerary coordinated with the Nigeria Football Federation.
In the Group C standings, South Africa currently holds the second spot with three points, edging out Nigeria by a slim one-point margin.
