South Africa have made history by reaching the knockout stages of the FIFA World Cup for the first time following a hard-fought 1-0 victory over South Korea.

Bafana Bafana secured the decisive goal in the 63rd minute when Tshepang Moremi delivered a cross that found Maseko, who calmly slotted the ball inside the near post.

The victory sends South Africa into the Round of 32, where they will face co-hosts Canada in Los Angeles on June 28.

Elsewhere, Morocco finished second in their group after an entertaining 4-2 victory over Haiti, while group winners Brazil maintained their impressive form with a comfortable 3-0 win over Scotland.

South Africa’s historic qualification marks a major milestone for African football, as Bafana Bafana continue their impressive campaign at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
