Senate President Godswill Akpabio has urged Nigerian students to remain dedicated and hardworking in their academic pursuits, highlighting the importance of education in shaping their future. He delivered this message during the Reunion Thanksgiving Service of the 1987 Alumni of the University of Calabar at the Chapel of Redemption.
Expressing his excitement over the achievements of the university’s alumni over the past four decades, Senator Akpabio praised the institution for producing industrious men and women who have contributed to society. He attended the event alongside his peers from the 1987 Law Class and colleagues from the National Assembly, acknowledging the University’s Management and Governing Council for their role in fostering growth and stability.
In her remarks, Vice Chancellor Prof. Florence Obi reaffirmed the University’s commitment to maintaining high educational and moral standards, contributing positively to Nigeria’s education sector.
Following the service, Senator Akpabio toured various facilities at the university and pledged further support to enhance both academic and infrastructural standards.
