President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has applauded Nigeria’s Super Eagles for qualifying for the finals of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations after beating the Bafana Bafana of South Africa.
Senator Akpabio’s congratulatory message came through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Eseme Eyiboh.
The President of the Senate said the result of the match was a product of Nigeria’s team spirit and unwavering resilience.
He said the Nigerian team displayed a high sense of discipline to subdue their South African counterpart.
Meanwhile, after a tough battle, Nigeria’s Super Eagles qualify for the finals of the 2023 AFCON match against Bafana Bafana of South Africa.
The keenly contested game saw both teams compete to secure their post while aiming to score.
William Troost-Ekong broke the jinx with a penalty as the Jose Peseiro side made their first goal which was equalized in the 90th minute by South Africa’s Teboho Mokoena.
The game ran into extra time and ended in penalties in favour of Nigeria. This means Nigeria will head to the AFCON finals since their last appearance in 2013.
