Saliba Signs New Long-Term Deal At Arsenal

Date:

Arsenal defender William Saliba has signed a new five-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2030, the Premier League side confirmed on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old France international, whose previous deal was due to expire in 2027, had been linked with Real Madrid but opted to extend his stay at the Emirates.

Saliba joined Arsenal in 2019 and, after several loan spells, became a key figure under Mikel Arteta from the 2022/23 season. He has since anchored a side that finished second in the Premier League for three consecutive years.

“I feel at home. We have a good team, a good squad, and good staff. The coach is perfect for me, so it’s the best place to be,” Saliba said. “I enjoy every day wearing this shirt. I try to give everything, and now I’ll give even more to this club and to the fans.”

Manager Mikel Arteta praised the defender’s commitment, saying: “William is loved by all the players and staff, and that speaks volumes about his character, commitment, and attitude every day. Since joining us, William has grown so much, embraced responsibility, and has created a strong connection with our supporters and everyone at the club.”

Arsenal currently sit second in the Premier League, two points behind leaders Liverpool after six matches.
