Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Bukayo Saka is ready to return to action following his recovery from a hamstring injury. The 23-year-old winger, who last featured in Arsenal’s 5-1 victory over Crystal Palace on December 21, could make his comeback in Tuesday’s Premier League clash against Fulham.
Arteta stated: “Bukayo is ready to go. We’ve respected the timeframe and he’s pushing because he really wants to play. He’s a massive weapon for us.” Saka’s return comes at a crucial time as Arsenal prepare for their Champions League quarterfinal against Real Madrid on April 8. The England international has scored nine goals across all competitions this season.
While Jurrien Timber has recovered from illness, defender Riccardo Calafiori faces a spell on the sidelines with a knee injury sustained on international duty. Arteta also praised new sporting director Andrea Berta, describing him as someone who will “impact the club” with his experience and winning mentality.
Saka’s availability provides a significant boost to Arsenal’s attacking options, particularly with Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus still sidelined. The Gunners currently sit second in the Premier League, 12 points behind leaders Liverpool with nine games remaining.
